7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Sense 2 will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

When will I be able to control music from my sense 2? Basic feature which should be available. Very disappointed in downgrading to a new model with less utilities

Best Answer

Hi @SeanM1 - Fitbit have phased out on board music for all its watches and with the new User Interface have removed any builtin Music control.

It is extremely unlikely they reverse this direction.

Did you know if you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy if bought direct from them or from an authorised shop perhaps, and some stores offer a 14 to 30 day one. For full music support and long battery life consider some Garmin models.

Thanks @Guy_  for the reply.
So the basic answer is that Fitbit are designing products that won’t fit with everyday life for most people. I never wanted music on my Fitbit. But listening to an audio book while working. Skipping songs during exercise without having to go over and pick up my phone. Popping into the shop for something quick or paying for the bus without taking out my phone are gone.
That’s terrible to hear.
I love the new ecg feature and spO2 is a nice gimmick atm but I can’t see the logic in making new devices less integrated.
It’s sad to see an icon brand fade.

Dear Guy,

The on-board music (offline) option is indeed phased out, but for the simple music controls, I am not that sure. It seems like that Sense 2 and Versa 4 have new operation systems and a lot of futures are missing compared to the previous generations. The software feels like it was rushed or there was a change of plans at the end of development. I can only assume this because really slowly but are getting back features already existing on the previous sense (taking calls on the watch was “reintroduced” in the first and only update until now and with this update we will have the changing of clock faces option, which also existed).

Controlling music on your device is a really basic future that almost every wearable  is capable of nowadays.

My Sense 2 did not detect any deep sleep and REM after the new firmware.

And it does not detect my heart rate anymore.

Anyone else with the same issues?

---------------

I am performing a hardware reset so that hopefully this issue will get solved

Hello @alexanderdemaet and welcome to the Community.  Your Sense 2 needs to be sensing your heart rate to detect sleep stages.  Please contact Support if the factory reset doesn't solve your heart rate problem.

Thank you.  After the factory reset, the Sence 2 has firmware 184.52. The heart rate detection is working fine again.  Tomorrow,  I will try to do a bew firmware update and see how it goes

My Sense 2 updated to this latest version yesterday, but still I don't see a "Clocks" app or a way to change clock face directly on the watch itself. Does anyone know how?

I also don't see "Clocks" app available to install in the Fitbit app on the phone too. What's going on?

There is no help at the minute. The system seems to be a mess and support isn't clear on what they're working on.
If Fitbit were to address the issue and give a time line on improvements it would make a big difference.
The only option right now is to move to a better platform.

I am still on the previous firmware and everything seems to work great. The Fitbit app does not show the new firmware anymore. I am having Firmware version: 60.20001.184.52

Hey

The "body reactions" is gone from my watch after the update. Don't know if that is the correct name of it in English. You know when it asks how you feel.

Normally my watch asked me now and then, after the update it is gone

Ever since the update 2 days ago my sleep stages stopped tracking and my watch stopped teaching heart rate trends in my watch.... it says to wear my watch more than 30 minutes, but I've been wearing it constantly and it shows my heart rate on the clock face, just no graph.   The app sometimes shows the graph and sometimes not.    It was working perfectly before.

I did a factory reset on my watch.

After that it went back to the old firmware and now I can't update anymore 😄

@Darthan- the update may have been withdrawn because of issues. Hasn't appeared here at all after 2 weeks.
