Since last week, battery on my My sense 2 lasts hardly 24 hours. It used to last 5 days before. I think somethings changed with update recently. I also noticed that the watch remains connected to phone via bluetooth, but doesn't necessarily sync data unless I open the app on phone and perform manual sync. For last three days, I've tried varies combinations, removed spo2 app, disabled bluetooth on phone, factory reset on the sense 2, change watch face, disabled all notifications, disabled all battery hungry features as per fitbit instructions to improve battery life. But no luck, battery behaviour is very inconsistent, it goes down from full to dead within couple of hours some days, and when connecting to charger, it shows 25% remaining !
I can't understand how a perfectly working device can all of sudden be broken with a update and nothing being fixed. Been a fitbit fan over last decade, but this feels completely off, it appears as though google for sure wants to end of devices and force everyone to move to Google's devices. Has anyone else faced similar issues recently after update? I wish there was a way to rollback these updates

Update 6th September 2025 -
The battery is confirmed damaged or dead, now this device does not last 5 minutes after charging it for 1 min/hour/overnight. it simply goes to 100%, and once charger is removed, within five minutes, it drops to 80% before finally going off.
The watch will stay on and connected if I keep the charger on. does not show any signs of problem when connected to charger.
This relic is now of no use, neither fitbit nor google seem to be bothered how loyal users must be feeling. Got my data exported, need to use better options elsewhere. Current sense 2 users, be cautious with updates if you are out of warranty. There are 3rd party options to replace battery, it still wont guarantee stability as the problem did not start from there, and no one is willing to own up the problem. hardware failure, out of warranty, end of story.

Thanks @MarreFitbit ,
I tried filling up the support form, i guess it isnt allowing me to submit outside support hours, I will try again during support hours.
the watch continues going dead on random basis. common observation is, it starts non-stop restart loop on its own, which i think kills the battery. till the battery is dead, or some n number of restart cycles, it does not allow any operations despite being connected to charger. this time it was not late hours, but during day time it did this. I allowed it to die peacefully, then once it stopped the restart loop, i connected that back to charger, and it was up as if nothing had happened. Except the battery percentage went from 0 to 39% in 2 minutes. so I have effectively charged this device twice in single day and it still continues to die on me.
I have already performed most of the recommended steps for preserving or improving battery life. one more important observation is, i see my watch has firmware 214.X where as the latest firmware seems to be 220.21. I do not get any option to update in my fitbit app. the app is up-to-date (with dark theme and all). how do i get the latest update ?

Update:
Spoke with support again after observing watch for two more days. Tried all recommended steps, multiple restarts, multiple boot loops, watch face changes, discharging to 0% and then attempting full charge. no luck whatsoever. the watch continues to go dead or get stuck in boot loop till we attach a charger.
the battery % jumps from 0% to 50% or even 100% within minutes sometimes and can also go down from 100% to 50% within minutes.
the firmware update has broken something for sure, there can be no other reason for a perfectly functional device to go crazy like this within just two weeks. I would have been still ok if the update was reducing my battery life from 6 days to let's say 3 days. but this state is completely unusable. Support says nothing can be done, and they are sorry for inconvenience. no update, no rollback, and also no warranty claim as mine must be just out of warranty. so, all in all, a good functional device, rendered completely unusable with bad update, bad engineering. I don't see any solution yet. the only option I would have still wanted to try was firmware update to 220.21, but that doesn't seem to be available. although not sure if that could fix the issues.
I don't see any other device in Fitbit family to upgrade to, I needed a watch, and this was the only model that fit my requirement. after many long years on Fitbit platform, now I will have to give up, and just move to something else and also see how data could be migrated. I wish Fitbit was still the same as early years.

Mine is doing the exact same thing! Google has ruined Fitbit. Can’t force update to newest firmware. Watch has been nothing but a paperweight for the past few months.

Seems like most of us that are having issues are stuck on the old firmware. These watches are useless paperweights until they get fixed. Why can’t Google/Fitbit allow us to force the update and see if that fixes our issues. Unless???? This is an intentionally induced issue to try and get us to buy new watches…

Yes, by now I've tried everything else and I conclude that the update has for sure ruined something to do with battery and power management. A perfectly functional sense 2 that lasted for 5-6 days on single charge, is now useless. This watch now goes to 100% charge in 10 mins, and from there it drops to 80% within 2-3 mins, and then it just dies. Reconnect charger, repeat scenario. Am now waiting for this to drain out to 0% since yesterday morning. Will try charging to see behaviour but don't have any hopes. Maybe the update has also affected battery physically not just at software level.
Will switch out to something more reliable shortly, data export pending

Just had a chat with Fitbit. They asked a bunch of questions but never once asked about the firmware version of my device. When I brought up the fact that their own website says there is an update they said it wasn’t available. Then went on to say that it wouldn’t fix my issue because I have a bad battery. All they tried to do is entice me to buy a new watch with a 35% discount code. Complete dismissing any attempt to fix the issue with updating the device firmware. I’m about to smash this thing with a 5lb hammer and find a better company to give my money to!!!
