Last night my Sense 2 brightness wouldn't turn down even though I had sleep mode enabled. I updated my software 2 or 3 days ago and was wondering if anyone else had this issue?

I understand that you have checked the sleep mode settings, but can you please check your device’s brightness, as it’s described in this article.
Furthermore, I will suggest you to perform a restart in your device following these steps.
