Have been an avid FitBit user for many years now, it looks like the Sense 2 has finally changed that. Since buying this lemon 5 months ago I have had nothing but one problem after another with it. As soon as one issue is resolved another problem arises. Now the GPS has stopped working altogether. I go into the settings, turn the GPS on start an exercise, complete the exercise and sync, NO GPS details. I then go into the settings only to find that the GPS has turned itself off. For 3 weeks now I’ve been trying to get assistance from FitBit and have just been going around in circles. I’ve tried every fix given (numerous times) and still no fix. FitBit devices aren’t like they used to be and neither is the company.

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @macrev!
Sad to hear to hear that your Sense 2 isn't working as expected. As you've mentioned that you already have tried several things without success to get GPS on your device to work properly, I'd suggest resetting it to factory settings. To do so, first sync your device with your Fitbit app. Next remove your device from the Fitbit app and the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Restart your Phone.
On your Sense 2 open the Settings app next, swipe to About Sense 2, then Factory Reset. Tap on that and confirm next. Finally set up your Sense 2 from scratch.
If that won't solve your issue, please contact Fitbit support to check the warranty status of your Sense 2 as your device is most likely defective:

Hello Talahtha
After many years as an avid Fitbit user I have decided to get rid of my Fitbit devices. I have found with every “upgrade” the product has gone downhill, In the past few weeks I’ve spent more time trying to sort out the numerous issues with the device, then the time I’ve spent using it successfully. I’ve also found Fitbit doesn’t seem to assist like it used to, with each attempt I’ve made to get support from Fitbit I found that the unresolved issues are passed onto another person who just suggests I try the same “fixes” the last person suggested. I just want a device that does what it’s advertised to do and I feel Fitbit can no longer manufacture a device that does just that. I won’t be back and will dissuade anyone I know to steer clear of Fitbit.

Oddly enough, my GPS won't turn itself OFF when I'm done with activity (it did when it was new-a mere 9 months ago), and it spontaneously goes on and drains battery. Also when hiking it misgauges distances time after time-always more than the hike reports say. I went hiking with someone who had a Garmin watch/GPS and low and behold-his readings were bang on the expected distances in two hike reports, where mine read more than a mile than his did (ex: my GPS says I hiked 7 miles. His said 6. ) Though it is quite accurate when I'm biking. Why the discrepency?
I have to manually turn GPS off after an activity now, and the method to do so is klunky and unintuitive. This is my first experience with Fitbit and I think I'm going with Garmin next time around. 😞
