Sense 2 - firmware update taking too long

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just switched from a Versa 4 to a Sense 2, and it is taking for-EVER to update in the app!
How long should this normally take? I'm sitting at just shy of two hours right now. I'm afraid to back out of the update since it took I can't even tall you how many times to get the install to even get past the "Oops Something went wrong - Please Try Again" error!

Please help!

@RavynWytch , A warm welcome to the Community!  Thank you for your message and efforts.

There are many factors that can influence how long it will take to sync your Fitbit with the app.

Please make sure that you have a strong Internet connection, either mobile data or WIFI.
For the best results, we recommend not to have other Bluetooth devices on and connected with the mobile device at the same time when you sync the Sense 2.

I would also recommend you to have a look at this, Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

For the firmware update I suggest you to have a look at this: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Here you'll find some tips, that have helped a lot of users.

I followed all of the troubleshooting steps outlined in both of the links, but still the update continues. We are now at nearly five hours for this update. It is not my WiFi or Data, as the connection works for everything else on my device.

I am receiving notifications from my phone on the Sense 2, but the app is not functioning, and the watch has the wrong time and day. I cannot change the watch screen or personalize the watch in any way until the update completes, per an error in the app.

Please advise. I really don't want to leave this updating all night.

@RavynWytch , Thank you for your message and efforts.

In the Fitbit App tap on the devices icon.

Unser the Sense 2 you'll see the firmware version on your Sense 2.
If it shows you the one ending with  214.24. You already have the latest Firmware installed.

In that case:
Force close the Fitbit App.
Make sure no other Bluetooth devices are connected to the phone or nearby (headphones, keyboards, etc.).

Please follow these steps; you may have already done some, but the order is important:

  • Restart your Sense 2.
  • On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and remove all connections to the watch. (Forget, ignore, or unpair device depending on the phone's operating system version.)Turn Bluetooth off and then restart your phone.
  • When your phone is back on, turn Bluetooth back on, but DO NOT attempt to connect to the Sense 2 from there.
  • Go to the app. From there, try setting up the watch as a new device.
