Yesterday my firbit told me I did 150 flights of stairs when in fact I only did one. It has been off for about a week.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Thanks for stopping by in the forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Sense 2.
Please note Fitbit devices has an altimeter which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure to track your floors. However, it may give you credit for extra floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, AC, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors.
That being said, I'd recommend restarting your watch to refresh its performance and monitoring its behavior in the next few days.

My Sense 2 seems to be tracking more than double the steps. For example, it currently has 3555 steps tracked, where my other step trackers have only counted 1250. One of those other step counters is the Fitbit app on my phone, which will show the correct step count, right up until it syncs with the watch.
It's on my non-dominant hand, and my bio settings are all correct, including stride. Those are the only two things I could find to try.
Do I just have a bad device, or is there anything else I can try?

Hi there, @pengaentu. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post and making sure all your settings are set correctly.
I'm wondering if he's using another app connected to the Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside his phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to a Fitbit account gives the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of the daily activity on the dashboard.
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
In order to negate the steps tracked while he was sleeping, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
