Sense 2, red X, factory reset not working

This morning my sense 2 woke me up vibrating and flashing the fitbit logo on and off and then a red X, it has been cycling through this for hours now. I have unpaired my device, and tried all of the suggested steps to factory reset it but it will not work. No matter how many times I try to hold the button to reset it it just keeps flashing the same fitbit image and then the X.

Thank you for reporting that your Sense 2 is showing a red X and for all your efforts.

@ccarroll44 Please try to do the factory reset this way: 

  1. Press and hold the device's button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off and vibrates.
  2. When you feel the vibration, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
  3. Wait for the Fitbit logo to appear. Once the logo disappears, release the button, then press and hold the button again.
  4. When you feel the vibration, release the button, then wait for the watch to complete the factory reset.

Note for others: (if you're not having this situation, please try as the first step a normal restart).
