Sense 2 syncing erratically

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Sense 2 is syncing sluggishly and erratically with my Galaxy phone (sorry, I can't tell you which one, as I am apparently prohibited from posting the numbers).  Suffice it to say it is relatively new and has lots of Gs. Even with the two devices within inches of each other, it may take several manual syncs before they are on the same page.  This morning some things never did come to agreement, as my stress management score has different values depending on which device I look at.

Hi @sgbednar - some things which might help.

Make sure that you use only one phone. The watch can get confused pairing with multiple devices as it can only pair with one at a time.

Logout of the Fitbit App and restart both phone and watch and sync again.

Make sure that your phone does not have battery savings for Bluetooth, location or the Fitbit App, as it will shut them down.

I am still having problems, but have noticed that if I flip through the screens on my device, it will start updating.  Not sure what's up with that, but I am getting a replacement due to my HR monitor being way off base. It is so innacurate as to be useless.  Too many things rely on the heart rate readings.  I am not holding my breath, but perhaps a replacement will resolve at least a few of the many things that are wrong here.

So if I understand correctly, you have the fitbit app installed on two smartphones.

Even if you don't have a bluetooth profile paired on a smartphone the fitbit app still leverages bluetooth and will try to sync with the device (this is from my personal experience).

  • You may want to first remove the fitbit device(Sense 2) from the fitbit app and then delete the fitbit app from both smartphones.
  • Then, make sure to removed/forgotten/unpair the bluetooth fitbit pairings (Sense 2 & Sense 2 Calls) on both smartphones.
  • Reboot both smartphones
  • Then, pick the smartphone you want to use with your fitbit device and re-install the fitbit app.
  • Just a select your avatar in the fitbit app and choose " + Set up a Device " and follow install steps.

If you still have issues contact fitbit chat or give them a call for further troubleshooting.

Thanks, but I only have one phone.  My Sense 2 is being replaced due to other issues.  Hopefully that will solve at least some of the problems.  If not, I guess I will try further remedies.
