Until today I have used both an Inspire tracker to record my bike rides and Map My Ride app on my phone. the Inspire tracker always recorded a slightly higher and more accurate distance than Map my Ride. (.5 to 4% higher)
Today I upgraded to Sense 2. It recorded a shorter and much less accurate distance than Map My Ride. (An average of 12% less than Map my ride)
Is there a logical reason why or am I missing something?I thought the sense 2 would be a better option than the Inspire. Also, I ride the same route almost everyday and I know that the inspire while not perfectly accurate was very close to the actual distance.
Thank you in advance.

Hello @STHsr and welcome to the Community. Your Inspire has connected GPS, so it uses the GPS sensors in your phone. The Map My Ride app on your phone also uses your phone GPS sensors. While they use the same sensors, they might have different sampling frequency and that can account for the difference in their distances. Your Sense 2 uses its built in GPS. My personal experience with the Sense 2 built in GPS is that it is very inaccurate. Your phone GPS should mark your spot within about 8 feet or so (sometimes even better than that) and still be in the range of published GPS accuracy. My Sense 2 placed me more than 40-50 ft from my starting point. well off the path, and walking through walls.

Thank you. That explains it. I’ll just use Map my Ride to record my distance. It’s a little inconvenient but not critical to my records
