Sense sleep recorded on wrong day

Before the new update, I loved the Fitbit sleep tracking feature so much that I turned down the gift of an Apple Watch for a new  Fitbit because of the sleep tracking I loved! Since the new update, I hate it! I’m totally frustrated with the fact that it now records sleep on the wrong day!!! For example, if I sleep from 10:10 on Monday night until 1:20 on Tuesday morning, wake up for a short time and then I go right back to  sleep, the tracking continues correctly and it is all recorded as Tuesday’s sleep. BUT, if I stay awake too long, Fitbit starts a new session for Tuesday and  incorrectly records that sleep as Monday’s sleep! That is still Tuesday’s sleep… nothing has changed except I stayed awake a little longer in between sleep sessions!

Today, I ended up with sleep from 10:48 PM - 11:55 PM and from 10:11 PM - 1:22 AM as “other sleep” on the same day!!!  I’m so confused… please fix this!

Hi @GranC. A warm welcome to the forums.

Thank you for taking the time to share all this experience with sleep. Sorry to know about it.

Please confirm that you are using the latest version of the app. See How do I use the Fitbit app?

I'm not sure if you tried to perform a restart and try to record the sleep again.

Try to perform the following steps on the Fitbit app:

  • Log out from the Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  • Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  • Check if the issue is still happening.

Happened to me literally today, somehow my go++ stoped tracking and then started tracking again in the middle of the night. Counted the first 2 hours for the night before last, and then the rest of the six as last night. Completely ruined both days and there’s no way to fix it, incredibly stupid

I agree the sleep tracking completely sucks now even the graphing system. It's 90% worthless.  If Google thinks I will buy one of their products because they f'd up Fitbit they are completely wrong.  I will hold Google responsible for my wasted money which I don't have a lot of.

It's the changes not our usage that is the problem. We aren't stupid and since it used to work the only change is Google messing around with a great product.
