Short battery life after firmware update

Recently did the required firmware update and my Sense 2 went from 7 days between charging to less than two. Tried restarting but no change. What the heck.

Hi,

My sense 2 is the same after that "battery overheating" update.

I´m pretty sure this was just a "planned obsolescence" update and they want us to buy a new watch.

The clues were that when fixing the thermal issue we would see shorter battery life, when in reality thermal issues with batteries are usually caused by too much battery consumption, so any fix should increase battery life. But as they warned, like they knew, the battery life would diminish.

Like some of you I came into the eco system through the Pebble watch, which I loved, the ideology, the online IDE and all the great stuff that Fitbit (and now google) has decided to sunset.

My next watch will most likely be something else, my wife has had Garmins for many years, I suspect I will go there, unless anyone here can recommend a watch that is more in the line of the original Pebble.

I’m having exactly the same issue as well! Fully charged up yesterday but has completely died by 6pm today.

Noticed that since the firmware update I’ve had to charge more frequently, but today the drop off seemed extra quick.

Mine has been doing the same here lately and seemingly getting worse. Charged it up yesterday and today it's already dead. I noticed yesterday when I pulled it off charge after a few minutes it jumped to 80%. Followed all the troubleshooting steps to no avail. Sometimes it lasts a full day other times it lasts half a day

My Fitbit sense 2 is doing the same thing after reading all these replies I think I’m going to a different name brand. I’m gonna try a Garmin next. I’ve had a Fitbit for many years now, this makes me ill with the company to hear their new update shortened my battery life to unusable by design!!

------

I had the same problem and for two days I couldn’t get my watch to even start, I was getting ready to throw it in the trashcan, and I kept trying to do the reset and I finally did a hard-core factory reset and it’s working again better than it did before

------

It wouldn’t surprise me to find out Fitbit did this on purpose. I struggled with my watch for three weeks and the last two days I couldn’t even get my watch to start it crashed. After charging it for two days straight I finally after trying 15 times I finally did what I think is called a hard factory reset and I got it working again. It’s working better than it did before

------

Do a hardcore factory reset it will work better than ever. Everything that’s in your Fitbit app on your phone will remain the same, anything that’s on your watch with the factory reset will be wiped out and you will be starting over

I don't want to disable functions I always used.  If it lasted 6 days using all those functions, why is it only lasting 1 day with the same functions!!!! Not great.  I want old firmware back

I'm having this exact issue too. Mine will hold a charge all weekend when I'm with my phone, but when I'm at work where I can't legally take my phone it dies within minutes. Apparently there's nothing they can can do but offer me 35% off their own store?
