Way too many steps on Fitbit app

My Fitbit app has way too many steps! Sense 2 watch correct. I’ve deleted the app, rebooted the phone, rebooted the watch.  This happened before and I think both times after an iPhone update?

@JohnnyRow , Thank you for your help.

If you see different amounts of  steps on the Sense 2 and the Fitbit app after syncing , you might have MobileTrack on.

This feature uses the phone's sensors to count steps. This is for when you have left your Fitbit at home (e.g. while charging). Please make sure MobileTrack is not activated.
It may happen that the steps recorded with the cell phone overwrite those of the Sense 2 .

In the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon (top left corner).
There you will see the devices linked to your account.
If you see the Mobile Device Active option, tap it and remove it from the account.

Give me an idea what you mean by "way too many".  Are you talking like a few hundred, or tens of thousands?

It is listed as Phone under devices Connected to Fitbit.

Got it - thanks; and so far it’s accurate today but I have 104,000 steps for yesterday (and a lot of extra activity points in WW☺️)

You can delete all steps for the day, that is all steps, not just the extra ones.

In step 1, where it says top left, it should be gear icon at top right.
