What sets the Sense2 apart from the Versa 4?

So, I'm looking at the Versa 4 and Sense 2 to replace my Luxe. I actually want to move over to Garmin because I love the look of the VivoMove 3s, but Garmin doesn't work with my Cubii app and everything I've read says Fitbit is superior for sleep tracking and general health and wellness tracking. (Plus, I've been a Fitbit user for over 10 years).

Why would someone pick the Sense 2 over the Luxe? It looks like the two devices are very similar with the cEDA being the thing that separates them. I'm just not really sure what the big deal is. Why is this a selling point?

I'm tempted to go with the Versa because it comes in rose gold, but I don't think color alone should be a selling point over functionality.

The Fitbit Store https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/products lets you easily do a comparison chart of product features for the two.  Then it's up to you to decide of the differences are worth it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yes. I've seen the chart. But that chart doesn't really explain what the cEDA is and why it's something useful. I have a Luxe which has NO EDA features listed and I still have a "stress management score" on my device. (Even though the premium page indicates that's a "Sense only" feature). My Luxe also shows me my skin temperature changes in the app.

The chart also makes it difficult to see which features I'd actually have access to since I have zero intentions of paying for premium.

I'm open to the idea that these extra features would be worth the money, but I'm trying to understand what about these features is so special for the average user- someone who isn't an athlete and doesn't have any major health concerns.

I might have said the ECG app was what separates them, but 'eye of the beholder'.

If you have read this descriptor, I don't think there is anything else anyone here ca say about cEDA.

Well, people could explain how it works or what the that feature actually LOOKS like... and how it differs from the stress management tools I have with my Luxe

But nobody has it yet.

Since the announcement (and then the preorder) of the new watches users in this forum have asked, nearly begged, Fitbit to provide further information aimed to clear the many doubts we all have. For some reasons Fitbit has been totally silence and the only clarified doubts are because of the work of the community reading manuals, descriptions, reviews, watching video and trying to read between the lines.

@LissaxKristine   The Stress Management feature on your Luxe is very different from what is on the current Sense and what will be on the Sense 2.  Your Stress Management Score comes from an analysis of daily data collected by your Fitbit.  The Sense has the EDA app -- that stands for electrodermal activity.  It's hardware that isn't in your Luxe.  If you look at a picture of someone taking a lie detector test, they are wearing a probe on their finger -- looking for a stress response.  This is how the EDA scan works.  The Sense 2 has cEDA, continuous EDA capability.  This YouTube video shows an EDA scan on a Charge 5 (same hardware and experience), so you can see how this is different from your Luxe.

The only available information on what it looks like is in this Help article: How do I track and manage stress with my Fitbit device?  Jump to the Body Response section.  No one has hands on experience yet.  I'm sure someone will be posting a YouTube video after it's released.

The Sense and Sense 2 have the ECG app.  It runs a 30 sec ECG.  It's also additional hardware, not available on the Versa 4 or in all countries.

If you feel like you get enough information from the Stress Management score that you get on your Luxe and I get on my Versa 3, then the Sense 2 might not be worth the extra cost.  There's plenty of time to wait until the hands on reviews get posted.

The problem with waiting is that if I do, I'll miss out on the free band with preorder

The Versa 4 is supposed to be thinner than the Sense 2

According to the fitbit store, the difference is. (Use the compare function)

  • ECG
  • EDA
  • Skin Temp reading

Therefore, unless your curious, or have a medical reason, go for the Versa 4
