Why is Reminder To Move limited to 14 hours?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm enjoying this device so far but with my Galaxy watch I have 24/7 reminders to move which is handy, as when I don't want the feature I just turn on sleep mode or do not disturb.

Why am I limited to this feature for 14 hours a day? I sometimes work late into the night and would still like that reminder active then as well to move.

Hi @sbzero - it has been established that rest is required in a day and that the normal maximum active hours for a balanced day could be 14 which is why it is limited to such in the Fitbit App. It is expected that a minimum of 5 active hours would be the lowest limit.

You can define the range of hours which you consider active in the Fitbit App, click the" time to get moving" [or active hours] tile and gear icon. top right, and adjust the Start and End time accordingly.

The dots will be shown for the range selected [a maximum of 14 and minimum of 5] but as the range is adjustable you can see a whole day simply by changing the range of hours to view, bearing in mind that the End time must be greater than the Start time, so only allows to select active hours in the same day.

If you turn off the reminders, then the Start and End time only define the hours shown in the graph, between 5 and 14 at a time.

There are third party clock faces in the Gallery that allow night shift reminder hours over midnight but they are not available for the Sense 2, and the Fitbit App doesn't allow it.

With all due respect it should be up to me as a consumer the hours I want to select. 250 steps an hour isn't "active", it's to avoid deep vein thrombosis from sitting, and the lack of such a reminder is a real shame as it's one of the main reasons I bought the watch.

I should be able to pick any hours I want without Fitbit thinking it can make my own life decisions for me.

@sbzero- agreed, and as explained, you can select any hours you want reminding to move, and view the history. And some watch faces not available for the Sense 2 offer more flexibility.

Sorry Guy just to clarify, is there some way to override the 14 hour limit by selecting the end time being later than the start time? I still get the 5-14 hour message. What's worse is it won't let me pick a 14 hour range at night time, as I have a rotating sleep schedule. So in essence the main feature I bought this watch for isn't useable? I don't get why fitbit would do this

@sbzero - the end time must be later than the start time. If you mean the other way round there are some feature suggestions for this but it hasn't been implemented yet.

But if you change the move hours you can have 24 hours reminders.

It may not be exactly as you want and if the watch faces were available you could get more options.

If you find it unsatisfactory you can normally get a refund, if just bought.
