So after several years of different fitbits, bought the top of the range Sense, it lasted three weeks before faulting whilst out walking. It reset to start screen, and then tries to restart again.
Reported via the chat and after three different chats eventually had them agree to send a replacement.
A refurb unit was sent out, NOT HAPPY!
I bought a new unit three weeks ago, and not a cheaper refurb, so why in that short time period is a refurb acceptable? And the chat I’ve just had didn’t help, these are not repaired units, just returns which very minor wear and tear. WTF! I didn’t buy a new watch and expect somebody else’s wear and tear. Come on Fitbit, get your act together, it’s only three weeks old and is faulty. It’s not a six month old watch!

Hi @Fish_on_a_Bike when a refurbished unit is your replacement, it's simply because that is what is available at the warehouse when your device was received. You can read more about it here - click. With the sales going on and the voluntary Ionic recall, the Sense is in high demand. Give it a chance and see if the replacement works for you.

I get that, it’s the pay for a new one and after only three weeks shut up and put up with a refurb one. If I’d have wanted an as new second hand unit I’d have gone to eBay in the first place and saved myself a lot of money!
And just to get this straight, Fitbit sold an awful lot of Ionic watches that were designed poorly and had to be deactivated to stop them burning the wrists of users, and have offered the Surge at a reduced price to those same customers, and if it goes faulty due to continued poor build quality, (just do a search on surge won’t start), and it’s an acceptable excuse to send out secondhand “refurbished “ replacements in three weeks of purchase.
And that’s not mentioning that a lot of the Ionics were special offer replacements for the also faulty manufactured Charge watches!!!
Nah, Fitbit used to be good and unbeatable customer service, now it’s a shambles!
