So my Sense is showing a big fat red cross on the screen with the text “ Data not cleared Sync & try again. I have no idea how to get past that. It happened after “Cindy” in support told me to make a Factory Reset.

Have a look at the advice given here In the phones Bluetooth forget or unpair the device
