Activity stops when GPS is lost on my new Sense Fitbit

When I am on a "hike" activity and GPS is lost, my tracking stops.  Then I have to start the activity again.  This did not happen with my Iconic.  With the Iconic when the GPS was lost the travel distance was estimated from my "stride" length.  I really would like to know all the data for the full activity not three or four segments.  Is this a software problem that needs fixing?

Same thing happens to my wife's sense but not mine. Maybe a faulty watch because we have the same fw and same kind of phone?

This seems to be a common complain among the charge 3 and newer trackers.

However my Sense buzzed last week and I saw the message that it will try to connect GPS. Normally the walk recording would simply turn off.

GPS is dropping regularly on mine, usually between 5 and 10km of a run. No GPS Signal is shown on screen and the GPS won't reconnect. Seems to be random as it never happens in the same place and always happens in an open area with a clear view of the sky.
