Another LONG TIME Fitbit user experiencing HR issues on Sense

Just wanted to post here that I am also experiencing bad issues with the Sense HR during exercise. I have worn Fitibits for years and know how to wear them so it is not due to use error. In fact I most recently wore a Versa 2 and before that a Versa so I know what I am doing. I have tried everything listed here in the community as well as reviewed multiple reviews on YouTube that are basically experiencing the same thing. We can't all be wearing the watch wrong lol.

I wore a scoshe HR monitor (optical- not chest strap) and the sense was off up to 25 beats at times. It keeps me "below zones" in exercises where I am huffing and puffing and chest pounding- I am not new to exercise so I know what my zones feel like. Exercises that would have previously had me in Peak or at least Cardio- I look down and I am "below zones". It is beyond frustrating. I had actually started experiencing the same thing the last 2 weeks I wore my Versa 2 (I thought it was dying so I bought the Sense for Christmas) so I am wondering if it is something they changed with software during the latest update and if they can change it back eventually. I looked at my new zones since the update and they aren't that different - it is something with the watch detecting my heart rate.

I really want this to work but it will drive me nuts if it continues like that. I am thinking about returning. Looking at alternatives but I love the Fitbit app and have been a long time user (10 years in Jan)

Omg this is the same message I was going to post. I was a competitive swimmer all high-school and university and have been a distance runner for the last 10 years.
I had a Charge 2 a few years ago and really liked it but decided to get an Apple Watch last year to sync with my iPhone/because of all of the bells and whistles. Almost immediately I regretted the decision because I was used to the Fitbit app and liked how everything was in one place, and over the last year I I began to resent how often I had to charge the Apple Watch (basically every 24 hours) so this Christmas I got a Fitbit Sense....and I’m having exactly the same problems!

I just smashed out a 45 min elliptical workout on level 18/20 and it told me I was ~90 bpm the whole time and then once I got off to walk around and get water after the workout it’s recording me at 130 bpm...but the whole workout I was clocked at “under” 100 bpm.

I know where my heart rates are/should be and this is really annoying. This is the third time this has happened and it seems to be focused mostly on the elliptical because it clocks higher heart rates with the long walks I’ve been going on with my family this Christmas. I’ve looked at all of the troubleshooting instructions and nothing has seemed to change.

Is there a fix or is this a model-specific problem?

I’ve been a Fitbit user since the Charge HR back in 2014 and have upgraded and worn them religiously.

I have to agree through, I’m also very disappointed with my Sense because the heart rate is way off. I didn’t have this problem with the Charge HR, 2 or 3 so I don’t understand why it’s so bad.

Even when I’m not wearing it it displays a heart rate of over 100. I hope they fix it with a software update or I’ll have to return it and either get the charge 4 or move brands (which I also don’t want to do).
