Has anyone out there heard anything about when we end-users might get a badly needed and long awaited firmware update? I can't believe Fitbit is taking this long to address these many issues on what could be an incredible instrument.

Nope, have you checked their blog?
Yea I guess Fitbit could simply start releasing firmware updates before the beta testing is finished.

Are we the paying public the Beta Testers? Feels like it! Can u imagine Apple releasing a product where a number of key advertised features don’t work from day 1 and other features have massive work arounds (SP02 clock face)? I’ve been a Fitbit user ever since switching from a Jawbone UP but I’ll b switching 2 Apple or Garmin if the issues aren’t resolved by my Amazon return date of 31/1/21

I also think it would be nice if fitbit would share some details when is expected to come. I signed up as beta tester but it does not seem like there is beta test for the sense right now. Either they dont do a beta test or they are too fat away from even that.

I don't think it's unreasonable for the end consumer to want some sort of update schedule, many other device manufacturers do just this. @Rich_Laue no one is asking them to release beta software (although some would argue that previous updates could pass for beta releases), just some sort of idea of an eta on updates. I mean even a meaningful change log would be a start, instead of the usual "bug fixes and improvements". I don't expect this to ever change though, this has always been the way Fitbit do things for as long as I can remember.

We have been complaining for years about that useless log.

The only way to know what is coming up in a future update is to be selected to beta test it. Totally agree that the Fitbit update log is totally useless.

I just want a functioning heart monitor! Is that too much to ask.

I have the same problems of @NeilFinny where the HR sensor gives nonSense 😋 values. Many people (including many reviewers) found the same behavior, The initial reaction would be that Fitbit didn't properly tested the sensor before to release the watch but this now doesn't help. However now Fitbit should have many data available and a fast-tracked bug fixes firmware update should have been initiated and released. It is worthy to mention that the issues involves also the Versa 3, that together with Sense, are the top products in Fitbit catalogue.
As today the Inspire gives much more realistic results.
