Not trying to talk you out of it, but realize as long as it is something you are wearing on your wrist, it can't tell what your legs are doing, unless you were expecting that it had a built-in mini-camera always focused on your legs.  If your main concern is accurate step count, get something to wear on a clip on your hips, like the Inspire 2 with optional clip.

You seem to think it would be easy, so how would you suggest a watch on your wrist should precisely measure steps?

You mention the heart monitoring and fitness tool that are important to you, but you also seem to basically just want a pedometer.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi, Yes, I 100% get what you're saying about the wrist vs legs.  I believe some units -including Fitbit offer GPS as the key indicator for the steps which for some reason I had thought this more expensive unit would also include.  (I should have done my homework better).  Step count was one of the key reasons we purchased the Sense-along with several other heart & fitness tools..  Regarding Step Count I can certainly understand how GPS could better measure using your height, stride, etc. as the base point.  To me, this makes more sense than measuring wrist movement.

We wanted the Sense for all that it offered.  There were more expensive and less expensive watches that also offered much of the same.  We went with Fitbit because of their reputation and expected it would lead the others in accuracy.  Maybe it does...  this is why I need somebody to talk me out of returning it. Thanks for your response!

@Rannan the GPS never contributes to step counter (neither on Fitbit nor Garmin nor Polar nor Apple nor any other brand). If you wanted use GPS to track your daily steps you would get only a few hours of battery life so no brand does that (and to be honest, I don't know how it would be helping). The extra steps are part of this technology, you can't avoid it. I use several brands and all of them will register some steps when I brush my teeth or type on the keyboard. The only way to make it better would be switching to foot pod or foot-worn pedometer.

Hi Johnny, just one more thing to add to my previous response.

While the Pedometer was not the only function we were searching, my opinion is if Fitbit is going to offer something as a marketed function it's probably best if it works as expected .  Offering something knowingly that is perhaps 75%-80% accurate is probably best not to offer it at all. It's not useful.  It brings doubt about the other more important functions.

Just my opinion.
