Calories burned way out, help!

I have upgraded my Fitbit to a Sense and just completed a 30 minute power walk with 3lb weights on my treadmill. If I do a 30 minute power walk without weights I burn around 196 calories according to my Fitbit versa, however on my Sense it is showing 974 calories! Surely this isn’t right. It’s also showing I’ve completed 22 floors! It seems way off the mark and I can’t understand why. Any help and advice would be appreciated. 👍

For calories, I don't know how you recorded the workouts, so check the workout logs to be sure they were recorded for about the same time length. i.e. make sure the Sense workout didn't keep recording for a couple more hours.

Check you weight is approximately correct.

Calorie burn is based on heart rate (assuming other factors such as weigh the same), so look at heart rate chart during workouts to see if they look reasonable.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

There's a very long thread about the floor counting accuracy or inaccuracies. A common recommendation is to shut down and turn back on your sense. Another thing to keep in mind is certain movements and activities can trigger a floor change even if you didn't actually walk up any stairs. I was working in a negative pressure unit in a hospital for about 5 weeks and going in and out of rooms definitely over counted my floors. It does measure pressure changes with a barometer, which I believe all fitness trackers use, to measure floors. Some do it better than others but all can over count. Our unit is no long negative pressure and it's been a lot better now.
