Can't reset fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I press and hold the reset button, my fitbit sense watch just keeps going to the clock face. Been doing this for weeks. Now I'm not getting notifications AGAIN on the watch. Really getting tired of so many issues with fitbit!

Hi @Jetskijo,

Will the watch allow you to scroll anywhere at all?

@Jetskijo When you press and hold, do you feel the vibration? I describe the button as a squeeze to press. When I do a squeeze it's always quick to respond and a squeeze and a hold gets it to reset if I need it to.

@Jetskijo But when you long press, if you have it setup, it should go to your Assistant. If you get to that point, just keep holding.

Since you said you can scroll, you can shutdown in the settings. Then power it back on.

No once I press and hold the reset button it goes to the clock face period. I've tried holding this stupid reset button for different time lengths. What can I do to reset???

@Jetskijo what's happening is the press is getting canceled due to moving finger (or changing pressure etc.). When you try to reboot the device you need to a) be very still b) apply fixed pressure on the button. It is a chore. Rebooting the device can be very frustrating experience.

@Jetskijo I already mentioned trying this in my previous reply but it was in an edit:

@Jetskijo Shutdown is the very last option if you scroll to the bottom of the settings.

What @t.parker was talking about is you might be pressing the button in a way that's canceling the long press. It's very simple for me. I have the watch on my left wrist. So I use my thumb to press (squeeze like I described before) and my pointer/index finger is on the opposite side.

@eezeepee I do it the same way, there isn't much room for doing it any other way but rebooting for me always was a chore. Best not to even breath holding that cursed button 😋

@t.parker haha. I just know if I get my Google Assistant, just keep holding and I'm good. I don't do it too often really. I prefer a "proper" shutdown and power up. I save the long-press for a freeze up.

For God's sake......after the umpteenth time of pressing that button (and it was a good 20 seconds, same as many times before) it finally worked. This is my LAST fitbit!!

@Jetskijo Gald you got it to restart. I think you should give it a try again and see if it was really that difficult. Or at least see if you can long press to get to your Assistant, if you have that set up. If you can do that, you get restart.

Again, there was also the option to shutdown in the settings.
