Can't unlock my Sense

I've had great success withnFitbits for several years. This changed several days ago, when my Sense proclaims that I should "Unlock Your Device with Your Phone." I've tried everything-- tried to change my password and nothing works. This is a disaster... If I have to buy another smart watch it will not be a Fitbit...

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
