Hi @jmbCodewriter, welcome to the community.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any support for Windows devices.

Syncing

The Fitbit app is compatible with most popular phones and tablets. To set up and use your Fitbit products and services, you must install the Fitbit app on a compatible device running one of the following operating systems:

  • Apple iOS 12.2 or higher.
  • Android OS 7.0 or higher. See additional tips for Android phones and tablets here.
  • Syncing range: Up to 9m
  • Certain features like smartphone notifications may require Android 7.0+. Check your device compatibility.
  • Syncing requires Bluetooth LE and Internet connection.
  • Syncs with Mac OS X 12.2 and up, iPhone 5S and later, iPad 5 gen. and later, Android 7.0 and later.
  • Music control via Bluetooth Classic on Android and Bluetooth LE on iOS devices.

Hi @jmbCodewriter. Welcome! It's great to see a new member around. @N8teGee, it's nice to see you here and thanks for your insights.

@jmbCodewriter, thanks for your interest in our newest Fitbit Sense. Let me explain that this new Fitbit device cannot set up or sync with Windows 10 devices. You'll need a compatible Android phone, iPhone, or iPad to set up, sync and use its features. Check @N8teGee's post for details about the supported devices and operating systems.

So I have been using Fitbits since May 2013 and have logged 81 million steps and 38K miles.

I use a Versa 2 ....

I log all food and use the Windows 10 dashboard to monitor Bp, calories, steps, etc.

So like the Charge 3 are you saying that I won't see any of the of these functions on the Dashboard unless I have my Andriod phone which I seldom carry or need (retired).

I like the features on my laptop but if the Sense doesn't support them I may have to cancel my order if the Windows 10 Dashboard is now incomplete with data?

Will the Sense or Versa 3 not support Windows 10 Bluetooth too?

Hi @Harry. It's great to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for being a long-time Fitbit member and sharing your experience while using the Fitbit app for Windows 10. The Versa 3 and Sense were optimized to work with Android phones, iPhone and iPad. While you'll be able to see your data on the Windows 10 app or fitbit.com dashboard, you'll need one of those compatible devices to set up and sync your watch. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and please know that your feedback won't be taken for granted.

Bummer but the struggles fitbit has had with Windows is many years with no proper support.  I too have received the sense and enjoyed it, but I have a dumbphone (unfortunately I am a dying breed), but fortunately for me, I can still return it.  Going back to my ionic with some disappointment but see my relationship with fitbit coming to an end in the near future.  A real shame...

if you get the windows 10 app for fitbit and pair it with Bluetooth it will sync. It works on my Windows 10 computer.

That is cool you were able to get it to work.  I tried on 2 different PC's, both home and work.  These worked fine with my ionic with no real issues.  The sense paired, but I could not get it to update.  Tried for days to unpair and reconnect, but it would never update.  That was it for me as I had another issue with the Windows app not being 'Authorized' which was the final straw.  5+ years and owned nearly every flagship watch that Fitbit made along the way + the Aria scale.  I switched to a Garmin Venu this last weekend and am loving it.  A new UI to get used to, but the Garmin Express windows app is great and there are lots of fitness options.  Either way, best of luck to you and the Fitbit user community.

Well, if I go close to my Andriod phone and then to my laptop I get the laptop dashboard to download everything including current  heart rate  via the Fitbit Windows App. Occasionally a notification pops up wanted me to unpair and I just reply NO. So I do get the FitBit Windows app to work with the Dashboard for my Sense 2.

Hi @Harry. It's good to see you here again.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this situation. Let me explain that while you're able to see your details on the Fitbit app for Windows devices, it's recommended to have an Android or iOS device to sync those details to your account. I understand your point of view about not being able to use your Versa 2 just with your laptop, every feedback shared in the forums never goes unnoticed and yours won't be the exception. You can find more details about our Fitbit-compatible device here.

Lizzy,

Like Harry I have been using Fitbit devices since 2013and have been pleased with the products over the years. Being retired now I thought that having a device that could track more health issues would be a bonus. After buying a Sense everything seemed fine and now I'm faced with a number of issues relating to usability. For the past few days the Sense was not syncing with my iPhone. To address this issue I had to remove the connection to the iPhone and set it up again - no big issue. Then yesterday it started discharging very quickly. Completely flattened overnight and then lost 20% of charge in an hour after a full recharge. I was advised to turn off Bluetooth as the latest version of the Fitbit app was causing the battery drain. That is not an option as I need to have the Bluetooth working on my iPhone for my hearing aids. I thought that a good work around would be to use a Windows 10 computer to sync when required and to remove the Sense from my iPhone app. Now I find that the sense does not connect with the Windows 10 Connect app.It would appear that Fitbit have done everything possible to brick the Sense devices as it is not possible to use as advertised. Please advise how to address these issues and to have a Fitbit device that actually does what is purported to do and works as per the previous 4 Fitbit models that I have used.

For the time being I have removed the Sense from the Fitbit app on my iPhone so it is little more than a time piece. If this is as good as Fitbit can do I will also have o move on to a more relialbe device.

Harry here, still on Versa 2 .. hardly every use a cell phone, retired too.... I use my Android phone to occasionally sync to Bluetooth at home.

That usually get the Versa 2 to sync to Windows 10 dashboard. I really like the heartrate tile on the dashboard.

Harry,

Thanks for your response. I’m seriously thinking about going back to a Versa also as they will sync with a PC. It appears that the Fitbit team have a number of issues to sort out with Sense.

Hi @Teecher and @Harry. It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about your Versa 2. I see your point of view about syncing with your computer as you did with your previous Fitbit devices. Our team constantly works on our products and services based on our members feedback, and I'm sure your comments won't be the exception as they'll help us to evaluate our procedures and improve the Fitbit experience. If possible, try borrowing a compatible mobile device from a friend or a relative so you can connect your watch. Once you've synced, you can then see your data on the Fitbit app for Windows 10.

Have a good day.

So how exactly am I supposed to transfer music from my PC to my Sense? Is that just not possible?

Hi,

From what I can see the Sense only plays music via paid subscriptions to Deezer or Spotify apps.

I have found it possible to link to a Windows PC using the dongles from previous Fitbit devices. Not sure that you can transfer music using the Windows Fitbit app though.

It would be nice to have the Sense work as advertised. After all that’s why we all bought and use them.

Hello @IndigoF and welcome to the Help forum.  I'm sorry, but you can't transfer personal music to your Sense.

Hello Lisaworld,

Would you be able to provide me with details on using the windows 10 app to pair with a Fitbit Sense? I don't have a smart phone and know nothing about Bluetooth. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
