As the title says, I cannot get my new out of the box Sense to connect to my phone (Samsung Note 8). I can get the first few steps done, but when it comes time to connect it to WIFI, it just checks for internet continuously even though my router is on and right next to it. I gave it about 20 minutes late night before I decided I would just set it up via bluetooth. But when it tries to search for the fitbit it just never finds it.
What i dont understand is that it pairs with the bluetooth AT FIRST, like I have to enter to code and all of that. But when it comes time to the actual updating part, it always falls through.
Is there something I'm missing, is it a bad watch? I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

@Vjorgenson - please make sure your phone is updated to Android OS 8.0 or higher. This is a fitbit requirement. If that does not help, here are additional tips for Android phones and tablets. Also, if you had a different Fitbit device attached to your account previously, check Bluetooth in your phone’s settings to make sure the previous device is not still connected. Hope this helps.

@Vjorgenson - I think the best thing to do at this point is to contact Fitbit Support. They should be able to help.

The WiFi needs to be of the 2.5 variety.
However you can still install the firmware without WiFi,. After the app fails to do it through WiFi you will get the option to load the firmware through Bluetooth.
