One way is to change your settings on the web interface at https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile
Once you have changed and saved the "clock display time" setting you'll need to sync to update your fitbit

@Karenbirkett Fitbit finally added this feature to the mobile app. Tap on your profile avatar, then scroll down to App Settings. The Clock Display Time takes you to the 12 hr/24 hr choice screen.
After years of only being able to do this on the web dashboard, it’s finally on the mobile app.

Hi @Karenbirkett - in addition, normally setting the format in your profile is sufficient for most clock faces which support both modes [don't forget to hit submit at the bottom to record the change].
There may be some clock faces however that don't support both modes, so if that doesn't work after syncing try another clock face [temporarily from Fitbit, to check that your settings are correct]
