Hi @MiMi7314 - while under warranty it's not a problem because if it gets water in it [some do] you can get it replaced.

After that it is a risk, just because it has worked does not mean it will continue to do so as the seals may fail over time and there are precautions, such as avoiding hot water or detergents.
