Got a sense for my dad for the heart app feature. However it won’t connect to his kindle fire. The watch will connect to my tablet or phone which are apple. But for whatever reason the fire won’t connect it. Is the fire to ok’d and won’t connect because of software? Any insight please

Hi @Mwooden I think for your dad get him a used phone. It doesn't need to be activated if your dad has access to WiFi.
The kindle version was not made by Fitbit.
However your Sense gets setup to your fitbit account, not the phone or device.
Setup the tracker to the tablet or phone, it doesn't matter which one.
Now since the tablet is setup log onto your dad's Fitbit account through the kindle Fitbit app. There is a good chance the kindle will sync. The issue is that the Sense's advanced features will not be accessible.

So why do they have an app for the Kindle? Fitbit just doesn't make sense anymore. They have an app but don't support the platform? They are owned by Google but don't support the newest Google phones. Etc.

As mentioned above @flupkevanantwer Fitbit does not have an app for the kindle.
This 2+ year old version of kindle app was modified by somebody to make it work on the kindle.
As for the phones It takes time to test and troubleshoot and Google is not helping with this.
Google currently does not own Fitbit. The sale is being blocked by several countries..

Well considering the pace at which phones get replaced by newer models they will never catch up and support recent models .Connecting to your phone is like the reason why these trackers exist. Nobody (at least not me) buys an old phone so their Fitbit would work. I guess I will have to return my new Sense.

No Alphabet have NOT bought Fitbit so no splitting hairs. As @Rich_Laue stated the sale is being blocked by several countries, they announced their intention to acquire Fitbit but as, yet it HAS NOT received full approval in all countries, so the sale HAS NOT completed yet. Therefore, to reiterate Alphabet (Google's parent company) DOES NOT OWN FITBIT.
