Hi everyone, I am considering a Sense (bought a Charge 5 but it wouldn't stay connected to my iPhone, replaced it and had the same issue so looking at other models like the Sense and the Luxe). I like the Sense but find the screen quite big (and bulky) and am concerned about scratches. I don't do any rough work (housework, dog play, desk work) but over time my last watch did get some scratches. How tough is the Sense glass? Are there any protectors that are invisible and good quality? An Apple Watch is just a tad nicer size but it lacks the health/fitness/HR/sleep tracking that Fitbit can do.....
What's your experience with the Sense glass?

Plenty of threads on this. Many complaints. I use a tpu screen protector and the glass looks brand new since bought 11/20. I cannot use the EDA/ECG features while the protectors on and in the summer perspiration/moisture gets under it while working out or while working in the yard.

Thanks for the reply! Ugh, no ECG etc is not great....but I suppose it beats getting it scratched. Will research to see if all protectors have this issue. Thanks again!

@SunsetRunner in my experience, it scratches easily but to be fair, I don't go easy on my wearables and wear my watches during rather tough activities (bouldering, rock climbing, running muddy trails - lots of opportunities to scratch the watch). I think, when it comes to regular use (considering that Fitbit is mostly built around clocking-in 10k steps daily) it should be just fine. Looking at it from the other end, I don't use a screen protector and I got some scratches but considering what the watch went through it's not all too bad. So the answer to your question is probably quite typical - it all depends 🙂

@SunsetRunner It's Gorilla Glass 3 which was 2013 tech. That being said, most of the improvements over the years really only made improved on crack resistance. Glass in general is good but any bit of sand (found in concrete) or a diamond (jewelry) will scratch it for sure. My Sense was my wife's from August 2020 till December 2021 and neither of us gave it any scratches. No hard use like tough mudder or anything similar.

It's Gorilla Glass 3. Reasonably tough but does scratch. Mine has several scratches in it. If you expect to do activities that may damage it a stretchy type of wrist band will provide protection.

A stretchy type of wrist band works good for protection and keeps the watch from falling off during the tough activities. Just be careful with sand getting into the band.
