Just wondering if the new Versa or Sense will have fall detection?

It is NOT pointless for iOS users either, one of Fitbit's biggest competitors whose name starts with G already has this feature and it works just fine with iOS. Whilst it's true no app or accessory (other than Apple's own watch) can send iMessages, that is NOT the only way to alert someone, far from it. All you need is an internet connection and there's almost infinite ways to send a message. G... allows you add a list of contacts, it will send emails and even call them in case of emergency, the call doesn't need to come straight from the iPhone itself.

It seems the Apple watch fall detection is included in the watch, but it is not useful for preventing falls. The company mentioned above (LiveFreely) has a fall detection application that prevents falls so that seems like it might be worth a slightly higher price. it is more important to prevent a fall than to only detect one when it's happened

Thank you for the information. Seems worth checking out.

I've been researching it (Buddy). From what I've read they are planning to come out with Android. Crossing fingers.

Why not ? There are many elderly and infirm customers that could use this feature via a smartphone app....

Hopefully Fitbit pays attention to the competition outside of just feature requests and is working on this fall detection feature, all major competitors offer fall detection and emergency notification of contacts

If Fitbit ever adds that feature I will return gladly but as of Christmas I am going to apple

How do I find the "feature request"??  I have been a Fitbit fan for many years, and I just got a Charge 5.  I am puzzled and concerned that Fitbit hasn't added a fall detection/emergency contact feature, especially if the competition devices have it.  They're going to lose business (including mine) if they don't add it.

I don’t know

Where can I vote on this feature? Tried finding it but no luck, I’d totally love this feature

@renbell147 You can add your vote for Fall Detection here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Fallen-Detection-amp-Notification-App/idi-p/3566...

I added my vote! It's definitely a feature I'd like to have. It's one of the big perks of my Apple Watch 6, but the Apple Watch dies after just 18 hours on a charge 😕 Boo!

Yeah saw a lot of posts some over 2 years old you’d think Fitbit would have figured out the fall detection by now. Had I known this before I may have gone with the Apple Watch instead of the Versa 3😖😣

I know this is years later, but if fitbit/google hasn't gotten smart enough to do this they're going to lose everybody's business as we move to Samsung etc. It's my turn to go solve my problem.
