Does the Sense need an update for the ECG app?

I currently have the versa 2 and I’m thinking if updating to the sense .  I know that the ECG  is currently not available in Canada but if it does become available after I purchase the watch , will I just have to do a update to receive it or would I have to purchase a new watch .

@SunsetRunner, there is no additional purchase, it comes with the firmware of the watch. When it becomes activated for your country, it will be an available app on your watch.

The ECG app works on Fitbit Sense devices running Fitbit OS 5.0 or higher. For now, this app is not available for Canada but my recommendation is to keep an eye to the Help Forums or the Press Release for future updates about this or any other feature availability. Please know that our team is always working to enhance your experience with the Sense and your feedback is a big part of that process.
