While I may not bring my phone running I will always wear my FitBit. After the attack/death of a young women in Ireland out running during the day, it made me wonder if my fitbit offers this type of feature. Does it? If not, why not??!!!

Fitbit currently does not offer this. i have no idea if it could in the future. I expect the main issue is that would require a cell phone-type connection on the wrist in addition to the wi-fi on several models.

May want to take some sort of self defense device like mace or a loud keychain type alarm that you can carry in a jogger waist pack. Sometimes even an sos takes time to respond.
