Pls, pls enable UK format. I can't believe how much I paid for the Sense and you can't even give international date formats. Everytime I look at it I get the date wrong. Pls include an English version DD/MM/YY. Can't believe this hasn't been resolved yet.
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject
@GemRuth You don't need to start a Feature Suggestion. Here is one that already exists. The UK isn't the only region that uses this format. This option will make many users happy.
If you are looking for a clock face, what do you think of this one?

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.
It's been over 4 years since that feature request was made and obviously no intention by fitbit to address this major flaw. I have recently purchased a Sense and this is my first fitbit. I'm seriously considering sending it back because of this. This is appalling

Best AnswerThe datetime maybe (probably) stored internally in iso format but my watch is displaying a localised version of the date on my clockfaces (Spectrum/Sp02 Sundial). The localised version is showing US (MDY) rather than my locale, UK (DMY). This is a data presentation issue rather than storage. Just as the time can be changed from 12h to 24h.
Best AnswerHi
What clockface have you got? I'm in the UK and have a clockface downloaded from the fitbit app and in the clockface settings I have put the date to UK format ( I've actually have always had clockfaces from the app and all allow UK date format in settings)
Check if your clockface allows this in the fitbit app go to your clockface tap on it go to settings and see if it has date settings
I've had my sense since it's launch and have always been able to have UK date format

@raymcbride - date is stored in a numerical value and Spectrum shows the date as "Feb 16". Is that wrong?

Best Answer@Newtripley Hey there, I have SpO2 Sundial, Spectrum and SpO2 Signature (all created by Fitbit). Only SpO2 Sundial has any settings and that is theme colour.

@raymcbride - thanks, "16 Feb" or "Feb 16" is more a user preference than a date format.
If it's particularly annoying seeing as it can't be changed, have a look in the Gallery for watch faces that give you more what you prefer.
There are many good ones, the one I use, SimpleClockPro, shows Wed 16 which personally I find more useful still, as I tend to know the year and even the month! lol
Ironically found this - Add the day of the week to the Spectrum clock face

@Guy_ I wouldn't say that this is a user preference. US date notation is fundamentally different to UK date notation. Take for instance a date displayed as 01/02/22. In the US that would be interpreted as 2nd January 2022. In the UK that would be interpreted as 1st February 2022.
Yes these clockfaces use a three letter abbreviation for the month so it is clear what month it is however Fitbit know my locale, it's in my settings so by default they should be using that to display locale specific information. If they want to provide a setting to override that then great but by default it should be based on my locale. I understand that some of the clockfaces are created by external developers and they can decide what information they want to display and in what format so it is the Fitbit ones I am really taking exception with.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm a programmer and this sort of thing makes me irate.
Anyway, cheers for the recommendation. SimpleClockPro looks good. I will have a play around with it!

@raymcbride- interesting issue; are you able to point to a definitive standard for displaying abbreviated month and day, when year is not included.
At least "16 Feb" or "Feb 16" is not ambiguous!
For a different view have a look at the legal format - https://www.ehow.co.uk/way_5689244_proper-write-date-legal-document.html
Sometimes the date is written currently in English as February 16, 2022, which is truncated to an abbreviated "Feb 16" when the date isn't shown.

@Guy_ It's not a standard, but you can get an idea of who uses what from this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country
Whilst that ehow.co.uk post is using a UK domain it is most definitely US content "Shelley Loverign, a court clerk in Aberdeen, South Dakota". Also we don't have ZIP Codes, we have Post Codes.
cheers

@raymcbride - thanks but year is included.
Did a quick search and wasn't able to find a standard for abbreviated month and day only.
Maybe it's included somewhere in ISO 8601.

Best AnswerI don't think dropping the year is covered by ISO 8601 as with that you tend to drop from least to most significant. So 2022-02 is ok but not 02-17

@raymcbride - tend to agree, in fact there doesn't seem to be a standard for abbreviated month and day, so it's a non issue from the creators side, it's a presentation choice they can make freely.

Hi @fattonyni - I use SimpleClockPro or SimpleSecretary but it depends on exactly what you are looking for.
