I recently purchased a fitbit Sense. I've had it three days and noticed that my iPhone 8 battery is being drained by the app. What do I do to stop/minimize the drain. I've gone from a full phone charge lasting a couple of days to now lasting about 6-8 hours.
Thanks,
Sam
Best AnswerHave you looked at the battery usage?
In settings click on battery and it will show the battery health (important! I got a 12 and my battery health is 100%. My 6s plus battery lasted a day.), usage by app, and activity by app.
(you may of already done this).
My advice (for what it is worth) would not have the app running in the background. Open app only when you want to sync watch data to the app.
Best AnswerYes. Fitbit is the top activity with 50%. It shows Location and Background Activity.
How do I stop the app from running in the background?
Best AnswerJust swipe up and it will soft close.
To close completely, tap your pic and on the next page scroll to the bottom and hit LOG OUT.
You’ll have to sign back in though to open the app.

You didn't answer your battery health of the iPhone 8. That's pretty old and I'm sure battery degradation has hit it hard.
Battery health is 85% maximum capacity. Before adding the fitbit app it would run 2 to 3 days between charges. Now, it appears to be random. It will drain as normal, and then have a spike where it drops a lot.

85% isn't terrible considering the age of the phone. I'm an Android user but the FitBit barely uses battery for me. 4% over the last 24 hours.
