Fitbit App Live Heart Metric

The fitbit app used to display my live heart rate all the time, but recently its been sketchy. This happens on both the new and old dashboard. Sometimes it shows the most "recent' range (not sure how far back it samples), other times it shows the same heart rate that's on my watch. The only way I can consistently make it show the current live heart rate is by closing the app and starting it again. Pretty hard to do in the middle of a jog on the treadmill. 

I find it useful to keep my heart rate in zone 2.
