Fitbit sense does not open google assistant, opens App Store instead

When I try to activate google assistant on my Fitbit sense, it opens the iPhone App Store instead of the google assistant app. 
I live in the US and both apps are up to date.

@Gregbel when you open settings app on your Fitbit and scroll down to Voice Assistant, is Google Assistant enabled? Also, have you set up GA in the Fitbit mobile app? And finally, have you configured button quick actions so the long press engages Google Assistant?
