Fitbit sense notification service not working

I have had the watch for 2 weeks and cannot get the notifications to work. Calls work but nothing else, it keeps telling me its not running and to restart but doesnt actually work. 

It's becoming infuriating, if id have only wanted a fitness tracker i would have saved myself some money

Do you sync it up to your phone often?

It took me a while of tweaking to get it to work with my IPAD.  I had to set permissions in the Fitbit app, then permissions in the Ipad configuration as well, including the notifications section, and the bluetooth configuration (allowing the bluetooth to do notifications)

I am also interested in a solution. Myself and my husband both bought the sense a few weeks ago. Mine syncs totally fine, however his disconnects all the time and does not recieve notifications. I have tried all the troubleshooting on Fitbits help section and it will only work for a few hours. Then it will disconnect again. I shouldn't have to restart my phone and watch every few hours.
