Fitbit went dark, not responding to side button

Fitbit went dark just as I was finishing my routine walk.  Got an message saying low battery during the walk.  The screen remained dark even after charging unit.  Pressed the side button, no vibration or screen display.  Pressed for 20 seconds, still no response.  What can be done to make it to work again?

It appers the fitbit is not charging.  The display mementarily showed 0%.  The charging cable & the adapter appers to be fine.  Please provide guidance how to address the issue.

have you tried plugin it in other usb powered devices like a laptop or those wall plugs with usb in them? maybe the charging cord & brick not functional well together.  Side note: Have you cleaned the back of your watch ? made sure the recepticuls for the under watch belly is super clean and the 4 little prongs on the charging cable is dust free and clean? side note again: I noticed my charging wire very finicky slightest bump and it will give a message that it now in slow charge. I usually charge my device through my laptop 3.0 usb slot and some times it still finicky I am hoping to see and improved charger soon. I hope some of this info helps.
