Fix your connectivity FITBIT!

I have had to restart my Sense 3 times today! And my phone once because my Fitbit keeps losing connection with your crappy app! This is unacceptable for a $300 device that isn't even a year old! At this rate, I will be going back to my Samsung Galaxy Active 2. It never gave my any problems with connectivity. And the watch faces don't look like they were done by a kindergarten child.

Hi @AngelaL04,

If you have the Sense programmed to "Always Connected" you shouldn't have connectivity issues.  On a Windows 10 laptop, you  should be able to click on your profile picture and then the device.  It should show you an option for "All Day Sync".  If you select this option, you should have improved connectivity whenever you turn your BT on.  Please be warned that this will wear down the battery of both your phone and your device.  If you log into your phone app now, your connectivity should be fine, provided that you have the app running in the background.

It is on always connected. I use the app on my phone and tablet. It is on always connected at all times. Doesn't change anything. It just started having these problems a few days ago. It isn't my phone because my phone has never given me Bluetooth connection errors with any of my devices. It is definitely this tracker. It is the ONLY device in my household to give me connection issues! This thing isn't even a year old. So disappointed in Fitbit. I had really high hopes for this watch and love the way it looks, but Fitbit really needs to get their act together.

Hi Angela04, unfortunately connectivity is not only a problem for Fitbit Sense. I was reading forum and could not believe how many problems people have with this Sense including myself with no sleep stages reports. Do you think they care that you are going to switch to the Galaxy? I don’t think so, they already got your money.

Their connectivity problems span multiple devices on their product range. I have had unresolved problems since the middle of last year. I was sure it was just the model I had, so I have been watching the forums for their newer line with great interest. Sad to say, it looks like there are massive product quality issues still.

you did say you have this on your phone and tablet I would suggest the device you use as a secondary device you turn the always sync to off a lot of what happening is called cross talk or BT interference. One your phone and tablet both fighting over the pairing and syncing which can cause issue secondly you might or could have a lot of devices either the phone or tablet been trying to connect to with Bluetooth which also causes problems. Some Phones need to give permission to always stay connected in background android 7.1 i always gotta reconnect it android 10 i never need to reconnect it Iphone IoS 12,13,14 it still drops the ball occasionally and i need to reconnect it by either shutting down watch a soft restart by holding the side button for like 10-12 seconds and then i reopen the app and it syncs fine. But all in all I think you might be referring to sense controls and notifications not staying synced to the phone but i guess i could be wrong and your strictly talking about the watch not syncing up and you gotta restart everything to get it too?

Side note there is100's of watch faces some very sophisticated looking you might wanna make a difference choice in clock face if you find them childish.

Another side note: I shut down the app first just shut it down i clear the app page to make sure it actually shut down all the way takes about 3 seconds I then hold the side button on the watch for about 10-12 seconds it goes dark takes a minute or so to restart back up then i simple turn the app on again on my phone and it sync's with no issue I have tested and tried this on about 9 different phones so far works like a charm. Remember this is the first Fitbit tracker as a smart watch it extremely new it going have issue's all new devices do.

So the Blaze, Ionic, Versa and Versa 2 weren't smartwatches then?

The syncing is horrendous, yet again my wife's Sense hadn't synced for 7 days and she is on the latest Firmware and iOS 14.4.2.  I also don't get the need to have the app constantly minimised in the background, other brands don't need that and they seem to sync fine!!  It is one of the most common complaints at the moment with any Fitbit device, the syncing is horrendous and they simply can't get it right.

Sadly I know. It's what I get for forgetting why I left in the first place.

I have the app installed on my phone and tablet. Normally wasn't an issue. Anytime I charge it or take a nap or anything it happens at random. Yes. It gives me an error saying that it cannot connect with my Sense. So I have to shut it down and restart it.

Even the 'sophisticated' faces are childish. I have tried so many. Even regrettably purchasing some.

I understand that, but with the price they ask for this, no a line has to be drawn.

I don't actually use a Fitbit for my runs etc. and the brand I do use has absolutely no issues with syncing.
