GPS Issue?

This is my 2nd day with my Sense and I went for a walk with my kids. Leisurely stroll doing a nature scavenger hunt for my daughters school.

I started the exercise mode on my Sense, but also started Map My Run on my phone so I could compare. At the end of my walk Map My Run said I went 3.2 miles and my Sense said I went .68 miles. The weird thing is that both maps showed the same route. I was pushing a stroller, but the Sense recorded around 7,000 steps for that time period.

I find it so odd that the Sense GPS showed that I walked the 3.2 mile route, but it only logged .68 miles. I tried to chat with Fitbit and the person was NO help.

Any thoughts?

Hi @jessica_p  - this seems strange, especially as it has mapped your walk correctly. Have a look in the online representation of your walk - fitbit.com and then logon to your account to see your exercises (log). As you move your cursor along the graphs at  the bottom the the distance is shown on the map - it would be interesting to know what is shown there.

I deleted the walk from the other day - I am in a step contest and need all the steps I can get. (haha)

But took a short walk today to check it out. Map My Run says I walked .70 miles. My Sense says I walked .04 miles. GPS mapping is the exact same again.

When I look at the walk on my computer - it doesn't show a distance like yours does when I move the cursor along the route.

I noticed when I take it to the gym it doesn't recognize a GPS signal, only when I have my phone with me. Does it have something to do with the wifi?

I’ve only used the GPS outside.

My first walk the WiFi was on, on my phone.

The second time I turned WiFi off on my phone - as it was the one half
assed suggestion Fitbit’s live chat gave me.

My fitbit is a little off from Nike + on my android.  It was off on my Versa, too, using the same phone GPS.  This is wierd.

A little off is like Nike + says 3.3 miles and the Sense says 3.1 miles.  Same course.

I wonder is autopause is an issue here?

It’s so frustrating. Happened again today. It’s just so odd to me that the
GPS tracks the same route on both, but the mileage is so different.

@jessica_p  - you need to select the tab "Exercise Details" - not "Mile Split"

@jessica_p - it is on the fitbit.com site - see your earlier post (10-09-2020 18:08). You were almost there - select the tab as shown
