Can kayaking be added as an outdoor activity for the gps tracking portion. I use it to keep track of the miles I paddle but it doesn’t give me the option of kayaking to categorize the activity. This would also help with the number of calories I burn when paddling. Currently it says I only burn about 150 calories for a 6 mile paddle which is not correct. It should be more like 500 calories.

Hello @LoriL. and welcome to the Community. Please use the Outdoor Workout exercise shortcut. It is designed for activities like kayaking. It isn’t obvious that this is the right choice. Fitbit made an error and used the same icon as the Interval Workout shortcut. I haven’t used a Charge 4 in a while. That device showed a figure in a kayak.

@LoriL. I think you misread my post. There is no separate Kayak shortcut. Use Outdoor Workout. It is designed for activities like kayaking, SUP, and downhill skiing.

@LoriL. I re-read your post, then used the Outdoor Workout shortcut for a minute to get a better understanding of what you are describing. When I tapped on the Categorize Exercise in the exercise details, I got this list (on iPhone): bike, golf, hike, interval workout, run, walk. It should list things like kayak, canoe, SUP, downhill skiing, etc. I will report this to Fitbit as an issue with the shortcut. I apologize for misunderstanding your first post.
With respect to the calorie burn, Fitbit uses heart rate based algorithms to estimate calorie burn. So Fitbit recommends wearing your tracker differently during workouts to track your heart rate better. Fitbit recommends wearing your Sense farther away from the bony part of your wrist, not too tight and not too loose.
