Have you lost your Sense because of the watchband??

Seems that others have lost their sense watches because of the watchband but wondering if people know why it's happening.  I'm sure mine came off while swimming because the peg came out. But I'd like others to share their experience.

Mine is 15ft down in a campground pond.  Hoping a scuba diver will find it and the campground will contact me but I shouldn't have lost my watch while doing an activity the watch advertises. I tried to get near it and dive down but it won't detect through the water. I tried for a while as it was a gift for Xmas from my gf.

I have a Versa, 3 Aces, Inspire 2 and had a Sense. This Sense is the first one that I have had an issue with.  So sad. I know nothing can be done as Support will tell me it's my fault it's lost.   Wish I could mark it lost like my other expensive devices so that if someone finds it and tries to use it that they will be alerted it was lost so that it can be returned.

Mine falls off all the time. It just pops out. I'm so disappointed in this product. If I had not sold my Versa 2, this sense would have been sent back. They need to fix the band.

I just got my replacement Sense today. When I put the band on, one side came right off. Upon close investigation, I discovered that the clips are spring loaded. If you open the clip, it should snap back. One of my clips has either a missing or broken spring. When I open it, it doesn't spring back. You should check whether yours are working properly.

@DaveDi my spring was never the issue just the little peg that went through the hole in the other side of the strap.  Sorry to hear you had a spring issue.

@Driskfam3 The inserted peg or something else?  Can you put a picture up for others to see what is causing your issue?

I lost my Versa 3 because of the poor band design as well. The versa 3 and sense have the same band design. Fitbit is refusing to send me another watch which is very disappointing. I had my fitbit ionic for 4 years before they recalled it and I only had my versa 3 for 4 weeks before it fell off while swimming in a lake. I guess I shouldn't have been using it while exercising??

@PerryMi good to know about the versa 3 band I wasn't aware of that until today.  Yup definitely shouldn't use it for what it's advertised for.  🤭

Bummer you couldn't get it replaced.  There is another thread (above) that has the "best answer" set as you should contact support for a resolution, but as you found out. There isn't any resolution but a frustrated user and poor support agents.  Customers shouldn't be guinea pigs. This should have been a foresight and should have been corrected.

On my third Sense.

First one the latch that holds the wristband to the body started undoing whenever it felt like it. Fortunately not whilst bike riding or swimming ... usually when on the mat teaching.
Second one ... was taking jacket off and it caught on my Sense and ripped the band out of the watch ... totally broke the locking mechanism.

To Fitbit's credit they have replaced all of them without fuss. So now on third Sense ... I'd change brands but have data with Fitbit that goes back to 2014. And I actually think the Sense (and previous Ionic) are cool smartwatches ... just wish they would fire their watchband design team.

I got an Ionic when the Surge started falling apart where the band met the watch ... who would glue a band in place?
Upgraded to Ionic but then the touch screen started being a pain. Again to Fitbit's credit they gave me a big discount on upgrading to Sense.

Seems to be a pattern where they spend heaps on watch and leave the watchband design/connection to a junior. One of these days they will put the Ionic band system onto a Sense.

Yes between the band causing irritation and the design the setup sucks on the Sense.  My temporary Inspire 2 has caused me no skin irritation and has stayed on securely since the day I put it on.  Thanks @mikmak001 for sharing your story.

Okay so I’m not the only one this happened to, because I have been looking for mine for so long. I keep thinking it’s somewhere around the house but I have searched the house so many times and still haven’t found it so it makes sense that it was the band itself that came undone

Yup not the only one.   The crazy thing is my temporary inspire 2 works with tile and maybe could help me locate it if it were on land but tile doesn't work with sense.

Fitbit needs to do something about this.

I loved my Ionic, the only trouble-free Fitbit of the 4 I've owned, and now wish I had just ignored the recall.

After my Sense had to go back for multiple issues, I had to wait 4 weeks to get a refurbished one back that came with a broken band clip. Even though I had already been without a Fitbit for almost a month, they made me go through the whole Smartpost process again. It has now been 9 weeks since I last had a working Fitbit, and I'm still waiting for my second replacement.

I'm done. After the first replacement went back, I went out and bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. I liked it so much that when the Watch 5 came out, I took advantage of their upgrade trade-in program, even though the 4 was less than a month old. I've had the Watch 5 for almost 2 weeks now, and I love it.

If I ever get my second Sense replacement, I'm just going to give it away. I've had enough of Fitbit. They've really gone downhill since Google bought them.

My Sense kept falling off. Bought a Garmin, I then rigged up a band out of leather and RTV with a retention/protective snap-on flap for the Sense which lasted about 6 more months before dying just out of warranty.  Making a band is relatively easy.
