Heart rate all over the place when doing a workout

hello,

recently my Fitbit sense heart rate readings have been all over the place when doing a workout. The last two workouts I’ve done, my heart rate feels high but when I look at my Fitbit my bpm is in the 60s and then jump to 120. There’s no consistency and it’s not done this before. Get the feeling there’s something wrong with my Fitbit sense or my heart 😂

any advice is greatly appreciated

thanks

I don't think there's anything you can do. You may try to follow the Fitbit wearing guideline and it may improve readings. From my experience, Sense HR reading is just bad.

My yesterday's bouldering session shows that HR has issues with anaerobic exercise when the HR shoots up high and drops quickly due to rest. It results in losing all the spikes:

Blue is correct HR measured with chest strap (and matching actual activity effort), Orange is Fitbit Sense.

I took Sense for my run today and surprisingly, I got the best result in weeks (if you look for my other comparisons you'll find out other results):

Around 17:00 the HR starts to be in sync with the chest strap, however a quarter of the time it's way too high (steady pace 6:00/km run). This is actually quite a good result comparing to my past runs for which HR captured by Sense was all over the shop.

From time to time I do compare HR just for fun. If you need accurate HR for whatever reason, Sense isn't a good choice. There is no fix to that.
