Hourly Activity times won't change correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning the times I have set up for the hourly activity times is all screwed up.  It was set to start at 11:00 am and stop at 6:00 pm.  Now, it won't let me select 11:00 am ... it changes it to 12:00 am.  As I try to select a time it chooses a totally different time.  I can and have changed it on the dashboard at fitbit.com but it doesn't sync to the app.  I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it twice.  Nothing changes.  I sure could use some help.  I have the Sense.

Hi @George1212. Welcome! It's good to see you here in the forums.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the steps tried prior to posting. It's odd that the times aren't changing for the hourly activity goal. To work on this, may I know the model and OS/software version of your phone?

In the meantime, give a try to the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Log back in to your account and sync your Sense.
  5. Try changing the times one more time and don't forget to sync to save the changes.

Hi, thanks for responding.  I have the latest fitbit sense.  I've only had it for a few months.  The app is actually on our Ipad Air 2 version 14.1.

We tried logging out and back in on the fitbit, the app, and the Ipad.  Numerous times.  We uninstalled and reinstalled, also numerous times.

The next day everything was back to normal.  The times were right and everything synced properly.  It was almost like I dreamed it.  I know I didn't but I can't prove it.  It was the day the time changed.  Anyway, thanks for responding.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.

Hi @George1212. It's good to see you again.

Thanks for your efforts while troubleshooting the Fitbit app and sharing more details about this matter. I'm glad that everything is back to normal and your Hourly Activity is showing the right times. This shouldn't happen again but if you ever have questions about your Sense or the Fitbit app, feel free to let me know.

By the way, check out the Health & Wellness board where you can make new friends and find encouragement to reach your fitness goals.

Hope to see you around more often!

Hello 🙂
I was able to reproduce the problem and I've made a video to show it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owhv-VCODEA

The key point here is that the bug is reproducible only on a day during which there's a time change. I've reproduced this yesterday, March 27, when in my country time moved forward by +1 during the night, entering in the summer time. During the whole day, changing the hourly activity times to what I wanted was impossible: the app kept correcting my choices. I've tried to do exactly the same thing at 00:01 on March 28 and the problem "magically" disappeared. It must be some buggy mechanism trying to compensate for the time shift.

Please watch my video and forward it to R&D. Users would appreciate a lot a fix for this issue.
I know that apparently it does not affect many people, but the bug is always there. Just, no everybody changes that option specifically on a day when there's a time shift, so it's kind of hidden.

Thank you

Community "bug report": https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Sense/Hourly-Activity-times-won-t-change-correctly/m-p/4560206 Notes: this happened on March 27, the day on which we moved forward the time by +1 hour in my country (entering summer time) and that's not a coincidence: after midnight, the ...

Hi there, @vlad123.

Thanks for the detailed information, the video provided and your efforts while working on this matter. I understand your point of view about experiencing this issue only when the time is changed in your country, and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. Our team constantly works on our products and services, and the input we receive from our members is a big part of the process.

Your feedback is appreciated, and it'll be passed along to our team so we can improve the Hourly Activity settings, as well as the overall performance of the Fitbit app. In the meantime, let me recommend keeping the Fitbit app up-to-date as some bug fixes come through updates.
