How I track Water Aerobics on my Sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been using my Fitbit Sense for a few months, at first I was frustrated that water aerobics wasn't on the list of exercises I could add directly to the Sense. I was frustrated that the workaround of using a general workout didn't measure heart rate or other factors. I was frustrated that the Sense would only track swimming if you were moving. I was frustrated that once I started using the Fitbit Sense in the water I couldn't use the screen until the front and sides were dry.

Here is my hack.

  1. Start a session of Spinning. Spinning is stationary but measures both steps and heart rate.
  2. At the end use a towel to dry the top and sides of the watch completely.
  3. End a workout session.
  4. Use the phone app to note the start and duration of the workout.
  5. Delete the Spinning exercise in the phone app (long press on the exercise)
  6. Add exercise over that time for Water Aerobics - Click the clock icon for Log Previous
  7. choose water aerobics as the type, start at the time you started the spinning class, and duration for the time of the spinning exercise you noted. and choose the precise setting.

I found that I was at least more confident in the data, and could see my stats and progress without all the guessing.

It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community, @Faun_in_Seattle.

Thank you for sharing with us how you track your water aerobics.

There is a feature suggestion called "Add water aerobics to the Exercise App list". You are welcome to vote it and if there is any update, it should be communicated as soon as possible.

Have a nice day.
