Hello,
I recently purchased my first Fitbit (chose the sense) and after some research, I have privacy concerns regarding my health data and google. Will Google have access to everything - my sleep schedule, steps, GPS coordinates, etc? Is there any way to stop my data from being sent to their servers? If not, I'll probably return it or cancel the order. Despite google saying they're not going to sell your data, it's only a matter of time. I would love to find out if there's an option to keep my data private

Hi @FitbitUser924 Fitbit is not owned by Google. While Google did tender an offer to purchase, the legalities involved are still going on and they do not own Fitbit. The current privacy information - click to read - was revised December 2019.

The agreement, that hasn't happened is that Google will only have access to meta data, not personal data.
. Several nations, including the USA have the same concern. you are not the only one

I too have zero trust in Google. We are not their customers; our data is their product.
There is no privacy setting beyond just deleting data. There should be options with regards to where it is shared and what it is used for. I am really uncomfortable with a company having such intimate detail of my life, particularly when that company is Google.
If there is no changes to the privacy settings in the next month I am going to delete my data, my account and get rid of my Fitbit.

They tried to acquire fitbit more than one year ago and everything was stopped due to privacy and other concerns.
The acquisition was made possible after Google guaranteed that data will be kept separate and that they won't use them for ads or other reasons.
You can believe it or not, it's your choice and everyone is free to decide what to do after the acquisition.
Personally, they can do whatever they want with my data...my fitbit is already synchronized with Google Fit.
Also i hope that something good will arrive from this acquisition...i always wanted a Google smartwatch but the actual status of WearOS is not so good.

Hello everyone. @SunsetRunner Welcome to the Community Forums! @Mladen90 it's great to see you around and thanks for the input!
@SunsetRunner I'd like to share with you that the trust of our users will continue to be paramount, and we will maintain strong data privacy and security protections, giving you control of your data and staying transparent about what we collect and why. Google will continue to protect Fitbit users’ privacy and has made a series of binding commitments with global regulators, confirming that Fitbit users’ health and wellness data won’t be used for Google ads and this data will be kept separate from other Google ad data. Google also affirmed it will continue to allow Fitbit users to choose to connect to third party services. That means you’ll still be able to connect your favorite health and wellness apps to your Fitbit account. These and other commitments by Google reinforce why Google is an ideal partner for Fitbit who will continue to put our users first and help further our mission to make everyone in the world healthier.
