Hi all, I am new to fitbit last week. I'm a drummer and have researched finding several threads here regarding wearing a fitbit while drumming. I haven't found a solid answer on the best way to log drumming activity, which is quite aerobic, but logs steps incorrectly. Drumming is my main workout/form of exercise so I'd like to get it right. What is the consensus? Thanks!

Hi @GoldMember - I used to attend cardio drumming classes regularly before Covid. I never logged an exercise for it because with the Fitbit device on my wrist, it counted all the movement as “steps.” Steps are my main goal and I was happy with the results.

I see you're very active on the forum and as such experienced with the fitbit! Cool.
Hmm, do you think that was an accurate representation of your exercise? It doesn't seem right for me.
I have a gig next Friday so I guess we'll see how it goes.

Hi @GoldMember - I’m interested to hear how your gig went Friday. What did you think of the tracking? I’ve given some thought to your question - do I think this method is accurate? Looking back, I remember thinking it may give me too much credit for “steps.” But then, I‘d end an hour session with my heart racing and feeling like I had a good workout. So bottom line for me is yes, I think it’s a good way to measure drumming.
