How do I turn off snore detect on Sense?

Hi,

I have the Sense and I activated the snoring functionality to test it and see what it looks like. I don't snore, so it's not very useful to me. But now, my battery is draining like crazy and I'm not finding where to turn off the feature.

 

Is there a way to turn it off?

Before anything else, let me clarify that the Snore & Noise Detect is a new feature that we're trying out, it'll be available for certain Sense and Versa 3 customers that have a Premium subscription. @Clove6060 While there aren't further details about this feature in our Help Site, you can find a description of it in the link shared above. Our team will keep gathering your feedback to improve our features, as well as make Fitbit more useful for you.

@maxperron In regards to your question, to turn off this feature please open the Fitbit app, tap the Sleep tile and the gear icon at the upper right corner. Then, scroll down and turn off Detect Snoring.

Hi @maxperron.

 

Have you tried going into the Fitbit app on your phone - tapping on your profile picture - tap on Sense - tap on the "apps" tile - (along the top) make sure the "Sense" tab is selected - scroll down and see if you can find the "Snore Detect Beta" app - if it's there tap on it and then the "uninstall" button.

Yes I've tried, there is no snoring app. According to this, the app is only available for the Versa 2: https://gallery.fitbit.com/en-ca/details/0000140e-0000-4000-8000-000000f17b17

So I still don’t have this feature and after comments about the battery drain. I’m not so sure I want it. Can someone tell me what the data is that it provides. I’m thinking unless the watch shocks me when snoring, it’s not worth the battery drain. My wife will concur. 🤣

@maxperron I see, yes that appears to be the case according to the link you posted. Are you part of any beta/field test?

 

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I've never had the snore detection, so not really sure how it's set up or works. If there really is no way to disable it, then perhaps a factory reset is the only option (although I'm always reluctant to suggest this unless a last resort).

Snore Report is also draining my brand new Versa 3 battery.  Had 40% battery drain last night!

Thanks very much for the response.  I find the snore detector very useful, but it does kill the battery.

I have been having difficulty and only get basic sleep details most nights with a "trouble getting consistent heart rate" explanation.

I have had heart surgery and do have irregular heart beats.  Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the heart rate sensor. The ECG function also does not work for me...

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.  This is my third or fourth fitbit and find the sense is great, but need to get it working for me.

Unable to find the option to disable snore detection, and also unable to find where to read the snore reports.

I'm sorry for the difficulties that you've had with the other features and I'd encourage you to start a New Topic so can have more chances to receive help from the Community, as well as prevent any confusion. In the meantime and if you've not done so, please give a try to the tips described here to receive sleep stages, and check this other help article to learn more about how to use the ECG App on your Sense.

@Eight_twenty2 Thanks for joining this thread. To turn off this feature, just open the Fitbit app, tap the Sleep tile > gear icon at the upper right corner and turn off Detect Snoring. To see the reports in the Fitbit app, tap the sleep tile > Restoration > View Snore & Noise Report.

I want to say - the feature works great. I suspect that for many people this will be a major help. For me it's not great and I am turning it off - I have a consistently quiet environment and I apparently don't snore. But I have to pat Fitbit on the back for implementing a feature like this to provide more info on sleep.

I did the same thing. I activated it at the beginning of this week when I had access to premium settings on my Sense..don't know why I had access as I am no.longer subscribed. It drained my battery in 2 days. 100% down to 15%. I went to turn it off but as I didn't have access to premium settings the snore function did not show as an.option in my sleep settings. That's a bug for the developers to fix. I just activated the 6 month free trial of premium through Google playstore and hey presto, snore reappeared in settings so I can now switch it off. Will cancel subscription after 6 months up. £8.99 a month, the premium features are not worth it. Also, I don't see why having paid for such an expensive device that we should be paying extra for these features.

As you noticed, the Snore & Noise Detect has been released to all Sense and Versa 3 users with a Premium subscription. Your tracker will now be able to track noise throughout your sleep period which can last for several hours, reason why you may have to charge your watch more often. However, this is an optional feature and you can always choose to either activate it or not on the Fitbit app.

I understand where you're coming from about the battery life of your watches and appreciate your feedback about this feature. Fitbit strives to improve our products, features and services, and the input we receive from our members is a big part of the process. Rest assured your comments won't be taken for granted

On my phone, I have to go to Settings, then Activity and Wellness, then Sleep where I can then select to turn snoring off. I find the instructions on how to find this is extremely confusing.

A couple of people seemed to have missed the point I was making. If you
move from premium to non premium and you had enabled snore detect when you
had an active subscription you no longer get access to the snore option.
Therefore you have no way of turning the option of , unless I assume, your
completely reset your Sense watch. Not very good logic and testing by the
developers.
