How to Stop Autopause on Sense

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I hike a lot, sometimes over rough terrain. Our group can have some slow going and brief stops as we all scramble up the craggy parts or over boulders. My Sense is autopausing when we have these stoppages. I am not noticing when it stops every time and am losing steps and miles. I came into the app on the web and clicked on the Sense icon and then "Auto Pause." But when the arrow shifts from up to down, there are no options.

Any idea how I can shut this off? I'm fine if it's off for every exercise.

Thanks!  🙂

@missmarker   There is an error on the web page with respect to the Auto Pause.  All of the exercise settings are set on the device itself.  I wear a Versa 3.  It has the same operating system as your Sense, so everything I say here should apply.   To the best of my knowledge, only the Run and Bike options have an Auto Pause toggle in the individual settings.  There is no Auto Pause toggle in the Hike shortcut.  Do you wear your Sense on your right wrist?  Users who wear it on the right say that certain wrist movements activate the button and pause an exercise.  If this is the case, Fitbit recommends wearing it further up on your wrist to prevent accidental button activation.

Laurie,

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I wear it on my left wrist (non-dominant). It was stopping when we stopped, so I figured there was a setting I needed to opt out of. I'm going hiking again this Saturday, I'll have to be more mindful and see if I can track what's going on.
