I have been walking the same distance on the same beach 6 days/week for the last 6 months using my Fitbit Sense walking/running function on the Fitbit app. Throughout the time period my calories burned for the walk have ranged from the high 500’s to the low 700’s, with average about 635.
Im still walking the same distance, at an increasing average pace(in the 16 min./mile range). But the calories burned have inexplicably went down to the 350’s over the last three days! Can someone explain why FitBit has cut my calories in half?

Using exercise app or auto-recognize?
Check log that it measured whole length and didn't stop measuring part way through.
Calorie burn is based on heart rate. Look at heart rate is exercise summary log. Was today's heart rate noticeable lower?
edited to add: Now, if heart rate reads much lower today, up to you to wonder if true reading or if fitbit just reading wrong today; just see what happens tomorrow.
The data is all there in the exercise summary log for you to look at and analyze yourself.
